Status: full-time and part-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday at 7.00-16.00
Rate: $16.50/hour

Job overview

The General Assistant is responsible for the preparation, presentation and serving of food and ensures the quality of the food and the overall presentation.

Now, if you would like to become one of our general assistants, we would like you to do the following for us:

  • Dispense food for the next production day and serve a meal.
  • Work according to safety standards.
  • Store food in designated areas following packaging, handling, food safety and changeover procedures.
  • Performing household tasks; Take trash and debris to the designated area.
  • Provide tools, equipment and portable devices.
  • Use recognized food and production standards to ensure quality, work at the correct temperature and under standard controls.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Ability to work in a variety of work areas including food distribution (packaging).
  • Interested in learning skid wrapping on finished products.
  • Prepare and cook food as needed

  • You must have a food handling certificate or equivalent from the government
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to cope with the workload.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team as needed.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English and can follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous catering services in the healthcare sector, in hotels, restaurants or in the fast food sector are considered an advantage.
  • Physically able to do the job. Light lifting may be required (up to 40 pounds).
