Bus Driver Job Description

We are looking for a good bus driver who will be responsible for driving the bus and transporting the passengers to their destination. In this position, you are expected to maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle, comply with traffic laws, and provide excellent customer service to passengers.

Duties and Responsibilities of Bus Drivers:

• Drive the bus safely and efficiently to transport passengers to different places
• Follow all traffic rules while driving
• Check the bus before and after each trip to make sure it is in good condition.
• Help passengers get on and off the bus
• Collect prizes and issue tickets or passes as needed
• Keep the bus clean and tidy.
• Liaising with dispatchers and other drivers as needed to coordinate routes and schedules
• Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems to the appropriate authorities
• Attend training and meetings as needed

Experience and Qualification:

• Must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with certified passengers
• Clean driving record, no accidents or violations
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests
• Ability to drive and knowledge of road laws and regulations
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a bus driver is helpful.
• Good physical health and able to lift heavy objects
• Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
• A good problem solver
• Ability to work independently and in a team
