We are looking for a qualified and responsible heavy bus driver for our transport team. The ideal candidate must have experience driving large passenger buses and a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service.
As a heavy bus driver, you will be responsible for transporting passengers on designated routes, ensuring a smooth and safe ride, and keeping the vehicle clean and functional. Your main duties will include driving the heavy bus on scheduled routes, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and following all traffic rules and company policies.
You will also be expected to assist boarding and disembarking passengers, especially disabled passengers, and deal with any emergencies or incidents that may arise during the journey. In addition to your driving responsibilities, you will be required to keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and number of passengers.
Bus driver’s responsibility
- Carry out an initial inspection of the vehicle before departure
- Complete the bus route while stopping at all stops in the timetable.
- People with disabilities and the elderly get help getting up and down.
- Assistance with luggage and bicycles
- Safe transport of goods and passengers
- Immediately report all mechanical problems to the Service Manager.
- Obey all traffic laws
- Always keep the bus clean and tidy.
Qualification of bus drivers
- Some college (preferred)
- 6+ years on the road by car
- A SIM card that is still valid
- Current CDL SIM (preferred)
- Air brake certificate (preferred)
- Less than 3 points on the driving license
- Able to occasionally lift 50 lbs
- 20/20 vision with or without glasses or contact lenses
- Willing to undergo random drug testing
