Job overview:

This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position for the summer of June–September 2024. This person reports to the head chef and supports the daily activities in the kitchen by washing and properly storing all plates, china, utensils, and glassware, as well as the well as the maintenance, cleaning, and organization of all areas in the kitchen.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the operation of the kitchen by cleaning food and production areas, operating the dishwasher, keeping dishes clean and orderly, and keeping food containers and utensils at the proper height.
  • Opens and/or closes containment zones.
  • Wash all kitchen utensils in the dishwasher or by hand according to the highest hygienic standards.
  • Maintain inventory using FIFO practices.
  • Provide high-quality food at a great price with efficient, professional, and courteous service with minimal waste and spoilage.

Job requirements:

  • Postgraduate education and/or related skills and experience.
  • Experience in a private club environment is a plus.
  • Health and safety notice.
  • Ability to speak English.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Pleasant personality and suitable for a catering environment.
