Front Desk Manager Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated front desk manager to oversee the front desk operations of our business. In this role you will be required to meet and greet guests, deal with their inquiries and complaints, manage bookings and appointments, and ensure that reception is professionally run.

To be a successful front desk manager, you must have strong time management and organizational skills and be financially sound. The top front desk manager must provide exceptional customer service and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities of the reception manager:

  • Define and implement admissions goals and procedures.
  • Recruitment and training of employees and management of shift plans.
  • Resolve guest complaints and inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Make sure the front desk and reception area are clean and tidy.
  • Maintenance of office supplies and equipment at the reception.
  • Management of budgets, records, and contracts.
  • Track all reception activities, including bookings, scheduling, phone calls, and emails.
  • Conduct performance reviews with front desk staff.
  • Generate reports and feedback for presentation to the general manager.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing and updating records, among others, as needed.

Reception Manager Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Hospitality degree or similar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a front desk manager or equivalent.
  • Expert in hotel front desk software such as Hotelkey, Inroad, and Cloudbeds.
  • Good understanding of hospitality processes and practices.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Good leadership and training ability.
