Position Summary

As a skilled worker, you will be responsible for carrying out various technical and skilled construction tasks, such as cement work, general carpentry, demolition, floor preparation, and cleaning. You will operate and maintain equipment and supplies, train staff and students, and be trusted to advise on site issues.

Venta locations are spread throughout the Greater Vancouver area, so locations may vary.

As a skilled laborer, your key accountabilities will involve:

  • Clean up the site by removing debris, separating items, and recycling properly.
  • Prioritize workplaces for employers.
  • Trenches, trenches, trenches, trenches, and clear footing.
  • Carry out skilled construction site work such as grading, carpentry, demolition, cement, rebar, and handicap work.
  • Maintains tools and equipment and coordinates with the supervisor when replacement or service is required.
  • Maintain the grounds and keep them clean and safe.
  • Water content, such as canals, water retention, berms, and basin cleaning where necessary.
  • Set up the scaffolding and make sure it is safe to use.
  • Use appropriate hand tools and as directed.
  • Install and maintain heaters, fans, and air conditioners on site.
  • Delivery and safes are available.
  • Lead the staff as directed by the manager.
  • Travel authority: if the certificate is valid and new.
  • Complete a school-level risk assessment before undertaking online activities.
  • Report injuries, incidents, or unsafe working conditions to your supervisor or on-site HSE coordinator as soon as possible.
  • Promptly report general or customer issues to a manager.
  • Assist the construction site team with construction and carpentry tasks as assigned.

As a skilled laborer, your success is dependent on:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • You have good collaboration and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • It can build strong, long-term relationships.
  • Able to initiate and debug
  • Attention to detail, attentive
  • You have a high degree of professionalism and maturity.
  • You have strong time management skills, especially the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Problems can be solved with a strong technical mind.


As a skilled laborer, your experience and qualifications will include:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the construction industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to perform assigned tasks on projects and lead others with minimal understanding of process and direction.
  • You can meet the requirements of the job, such as working on your feet for 8 hours or more, lifting heavy objects up to 55 pounds, and doing long physical activities.
  • A driver’s license and access to a vehicle are expensive.
  • Legitimate security tickets are expensive.
  • Basic carpentry skills are essential.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada for any employer.
