We are looking for a dedicated and experienced truck driver to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions. The successful bidder will be responsible for transporting goods from one location to another to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery.

Truck driver responsibilities

• Operate trucks safely, obey all traffic laws, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Loading and unloading of goods, as well as adequate securing of goods during transport.
• Plan and follow the best routes, taking into account traffic and weather conditions to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Perform regular vehicle inspections to maintain safe operation and identify and report mechanical or electrical issues that require attention.
• Communicate effectively with team members, coordinators, and customers; update shipping status and any delays.
• Follow safety regulations, such as wearing a seat belt and personal protective equipment, and using safety lighting and proper safety equipment.
• Complete delivery logs and other required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Communicate politely with other drivers, pedestrians, and road users.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean record
• Documented work experience as a truck driver with at least three years of experience
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions
• Truck maintenance and repair skills, including identifying and reporting mechanical or electrical problems
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and basic math skills, including map reading, calculating distances and weights, and completing delivery logs and other necessary paperwork
• Ability to work independently in an individual shift or in a team, following written and verbal instructions
• Flexible working hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Excellent work ethic and commitment to providing the best customer service
• Physical fitness of drivers may be required to lift, carry, and move heavy loads.
• Ability to pass a legally required drug and alcohol test
