Job Description

With little control, warehouse workers perform their duties. Duties require independent decision-making, judgment, and a good understanding of company or departmental policies and procedures. Employees will work autonomously and as part of a work group or team.

This position provides the labor necessary for the warehouse operations of the distribution center.

Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

Replenishment

  • Keep the selection field filled; fill, pour bastils, and many other places.
  • Inventory turnover is especially important for items in refrigerators and freezers as well as in dry areas.
  • Every movement of the product must be monitored, including the physical movement of the product.
  • Place each product in the appropriate selection box; never move the product to the side.
  • Remove the damaged product to restore the area.
  • Track product changes, replacements, and sales promotions.

Freezer/Cooler Selection

  • Select Freezers/Refrigerators: Select any product to be packed on the company’s trailer.
  • Make sure the correct finish and build are selected in the table or project.
  • Make sure you load the selected product in the correct position on the company trailer.
  • Responsible for load quality and reliability
  • Remove all returns at the end of the specified round.

Dry Selection

  • Dry Pick: Carefully select products for loading on the company’s trailer.
  • Ensure proper closure management and construction on all selected panels.
  • Make sure you load the selected product in the correct position on the company trailer.

Receiving

  • Fulfill Receiving Duties: Correctly receive all incoming shipments.
  • Fixed tagging issues that could cause errors when deleting or resetting
  • To ensure proper dock flow, work with other receivers to direct off-team activities.
  • Perform removal duties if necessary.
  • Fix the issue with receiving assigned changes before completion.

Putaway

  • Fulfillment of duties: correct cleaning of all products
  • Place the received product in the space next to the selection, unless otherwise instructed.
  • Rotate the product in the rack before placing a new product in the slot.
  • As needed, separate tabs by company
  • Fix all bugs that were deleted in the changeset. The error file must contain no errors at the end of the defined change.

General Responsibilities

  • If necessary, replace the battery on the device.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of work according to quality standards
  • Ensure that the work area is kept clean at all times.
  • Organize your work to maximize safety and efficiency. Identifying and correcting potentially dangerous conditions and situations
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Scope of Supervision and Authority

  • Responsibilities are performed with minimal supervision and communication from warehouse supervisors.
  • Ensure Safe Food Canada (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) and Good Driving Practices (GDP) for transport regulations.
  • Assigned projects or other duties

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience, special skills
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment or freezer.
  • capable of lifting and moving heavy boxes multiple times (up to 55 pounds).
  • Experience in high-volume warehousing, food service, distribution, logistics, or the equivalent is preferred.
  • A forklift and an electric pallet truck are good experiences.
