We are currently hiring a Warehouse Associate II at our Winnipeg, Manitoba, location. The primary role of the Warehouse Associate II is to coordinate the efficient and accurate movement of all inventory, such as the shipping and receiving of finished goods and raw materials within the storage, receiving, and staging areas. This position supports the coordination of warehouse staff needs as needed. A secondary role in this position is to assist the production manager in identifying and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness in warehouse operations.

The Warehouse Associate II works in partnership with the warehouse team and production supervisor as such, participates in team efforts to achieve assigned business unit goals, and works closely with the production team, customer service, supply chain, and quality assurance to ensure all warehousing and warehouse activities are completed on time and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and regulatory requirements. When necessary, you may step in and direct when the warehouse supervisor is not available.

This position will work an 8-hour shift (9 a.m.–5.30 p.m.) Sunday through Thursday to support a 24/7/365 operation.

The successful candidate will be located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Responsibility

Invent

  • Coordinate the receipt of all packaging, ingredients, and new materials into the building.
  • Responsible for all tasks related to inbound and outbound shipments, including shipment inspection, picking list creation, order confirmation, loading, and unloading orders.
  • Approval of finished goods in stock and warehouse.

Documentation

  • Ensure that all materials and ingredients are entered into the inventory management system immediately upon receipt.

Work planning

  • Performs daily warehouse tasks as needed to meet daily goals and maintenance needs.

Quality and customer focus

  • Ensures product quality by practicing and implementing quality assurance, critical control point (HACCP) analysis, food safety, and ISO requirements in all aspects of warehouse operations.
  • Develop SOP documentation processes and tasks and standard work documentation for warehouse operations; train SOPs; and ensure employees adhere to SOPs when performing jobs and tasks.

  • Coordinates with warehouse supervisors and production managers to achieve daily results, working with the warehouse team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Contributes to a stable, safe, and healthy working environment within the team.
  • Assists in developing positive cross-functional and departmental relationships.

Safety and environment

  • Encourage safe work practices by applying standard safety procedures and, where appropriate, developing and implementing practical recommendations for safety practices.
  • Ensure warehouse operations do not develop unsafe practices, conduct daily inspections of mobile equipment, and implement all policies and procedures related to employee safety in the work environment.

Continuous improvement

  • Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and process quality, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.

Knowledge and skills

  • Demonstrates leadership and interpersonal skills, creates a team environment, and promotes employee productivity and competence.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to communicate one-on-one and in a group setting.
  • Knowledge of using the ERP/warehouse management system.
  • Focus on quality, including the development and adherence to quality policies and standard operating procedures that create efficiency in the business unit.
  • A problem solver with good analytical skills and the ability to solve problems when the need arises. Involves staff in the decision-making process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of warehouse experience, preferably within the food industry, with an emphasis on warehouse management.
  • Possibility of obtaining permission for a forklift.
  • Great attention to detail and numerical ability.
  • She is highly organized, has excellent time management and prioritization skills, and knows how to make good decisions.
  • Experience in a culturally diverse work environment.
  • Knowledge of working with MS Office applications and internet applications. Preferably experience with an ERP or warehouse management system.
